Is Anthony Davis Playing Tonight vs Grizzlies? Lakers Issue Injury Report Ahead of a Potential Game 5 Closeout

The Los Angeles Lakers have surprised everyone these playoffs. After fighting their way to a playoff berth, they got matched up against the #2 seed, Memphis Grizzlies. Taking on Ja Morant and the Grizzles, many assumed Anthony Davis would have to be the game-changer against them. However, that hasn’t been the case.

It has been an all-hands-on-deck situation for the Lakers, with a different player or players contributing every single night. In Game 4, it was LeBron James and Austin Reaves, before D’Angelo Russell hit 3 huge threes. The Lakers came out with a 117-111 OT win.

Now heading into Game 5, fans are a little worried about Anthony Davis and his hip injury.

Anthony Davis is listed as Probable for Game 5

AD had a quiet Game 4. It may be because of the hip injury he picked up during the game. This has fans worried about their star’s health. However, if we are to believe the Lakers’ Head Coach and the team’s official injury report, there is not much to be worried about.

Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis will play in Game 5.

The latest injury report submitted on NBA.com has him listed as probable, along with LeBron James and Dennis Schroder. However, we’ve seen the trio on the IR as probable before as well, and they played those games. Fans shouldn’t expect tonight to be any different.

So far this series, AD has been averaging 19.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 4.8 blocks. He would hope for a strong Game 5 to finish things off in Memphis and so that he can get a breather before round two.
