The Los Angeles Lakers are slowly but steadily making their way towards the bottom of the table. With every new game, they seem to be playing worse basketball than before. Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss’s horrible executive decisions have been biting the franchise since last season.

This season, despite LeBron James’ ageless performance, the Lakers have no answer for the league. They stand 13th in the league with 5 losses behind a 50% record. However, fortunately, Lakers’ head coach Darvin Ham has provided an important update on Anthony Davis.
AD has been missing from action for the last 17 games after suffering a stress reaction in his right foot. But, as per Darvin Ham, he is now getting closer to recovery.
Anthony Davis is marked as out against the Grizzlies
In the upcoming game against the Grizzlies, Anthony Davis will not be present and is marked as out. He is still recovering from his stress reaction suffered in December. However, it seems AD has upped his practice minutes and is not feeling any pain because of it.
Speaking to the press, Darvin Ham revealed that Anthony Davis was not practicing individually and had extended his workout time to 1-hour. However, he has still not been cleared for contact practice.
Writing about the impact of AD’s individual workout and a return timeline, Insider Mark medina revealed:
“Anthony Davis has just completed individual workouts. Not clear yet when he’ll be cleared for team practices. Lakers coach Darvin Ham: “You have to be careful. Feeling good after an individual workout could be a little bit different than when you got extra bodies on the floor.”

The best possible outcome for the Lakers would be the return of a healthy Anthony Davis before the end of March. If he can do so, and the Lakers can manage to stay even near the play-in bracket, things may turn around for the Lakers.
However, if that doesn’t happen, the Lakers will likely miss their second consecutive playoffs.
AD’s stats before the injury
Before his injury, Anthony Davis was dominating for the Lakers. In fact, even Magic Johnson proclaimed that Davis was having an MVP-type season.
Four guys that NBA fans like me can’t wait to come back and play are Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker and Anthony Davis. They were all having MVP-type seasons and have been dominate at their positions!

In his 25 games, Anthony Davis averaged 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds. He was shooting 59.4% of his field goals, the most ever in his career. Unfortunately, this spectacle came to an abrupt hall during a game against the Nuggets but luckily, it seems we’ll get to see Davis again soon.
