Is Anthony Davis playing tonight vs Minnesota Timberwolves? Lakers release injury report for their MVP candidate

Anthony Davis is struggling with a right calf contusion. His availability for the Timberwolves game tonight is up in the air.

The Lakers big man has had a couple of niggles in the past week, with these injuries having the capacity to rule him out of games. AD’s status for the Lakers season opener was in question due to a right calf contusion that he suffered sometime in training camp. He was able to suit up for the Lakers however, and posted up 18 points and 7 boards.

During the Dallas Mavericks game, Davis took an elbow to the face early on in the bout, but was able to power through. He ended up leading the Lakeshow to the win as he totalled 28 points on 10-16 shooting from the field.

Davis’s availability for the Christmas Day game was also in question, as he had both the right calf contusion and a hindered ankle.

Will Anthony Davis suit up for the Lakers tonight?

Though Davis has been able to hit the NBA hardwood for both Lakers games, he is still on the injury list. His lingering right calf contusion is what is necessitating his presence on the injury list.

Ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves game, Anthony Davis is listed as questionable. His availability for the game can go either way. It is quite possible that Davis won’t play tonight so as to give the big man some rest. After all, there was only a one day break between the Dallas game and this upcoming one.

The right calf contusion seemed like an afterthought for the perennial All-Star as he looked extremely comfortable being on the court.

He led the Lakers squad in points with 28, while grabbing 8 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists, and notching 2 steals. This was all in 30 minutes of action.
