Is Kyrie Irving playing today vs Thunder? Nets release list of available players ahead of crucial game against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and co
Kyrie Irving has turned out to be just as eccentric as ever this season. The point guard took the last 2 Nets games off for ‘personal reasons’.
Managing Kyrie has proved to be a tough task for every single head coach he’s played under. In the past, Kyrie has gotten away with stuff like giving cold shoulders to coaches. He did nothing to dispel those apprehensions with his comments on Kevin Durant’s podcast in October.
He once stayed off the grid from all the coaches at Cleveland till one of them visited his house. He confessed that he was ‘testing’ his coaches’ resolve to getting to him. Stuff like this usually does not fly with authoritative coaches, and act to undermine their authority.
It is tough to get to Kyrie, but everyone knows that he’s a good soul at heart. Sometimes, situations get the best of him. It has been speculated that he took the Capitol Hill riots and the Jacob Blake verdict pretty hard and boycotted games for this reason.
Is Kyrie Irving playing today vs OKC Thunder?
The Nets upgraded Kyrie to ‘questionable’ status for their 4:30 PM ET tipoff against the Thunder at the Barclays Center. The Nets will be looking to get back above .500 after going 1-1 in Kyrie’s absence.

The same report also listed Kevin Durant as ‘probable’ following his 7-day quarantine. KD was part of a Covid-19 tracing program – a compulsory 7-day break from interaction with teammates.
The Nets have flattered to deceive so far this season. After 2 statement wins to start the season off, they’ve since gone 3-5. They’ve dropped 2 games to the Grizzlies and one each to the Hawks, Hornets and Wizards. They are a long way from where they need to be in the postseason, currently 10th in the Conference.
