"It's Like He Lives in a Glass Building": To Highlight LeBron James's Godlike IQ Coach K Once Gave Bizarre Analogy Describing Him

LeBron James as a basketball player has no superior. No one can even compare the skill level that James possesses. His statistics speak for themselves. He is currently the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a record that stood for 40 years. Coach Mike Krzyzewski once described James’ mind as a house made of glass! Yes, it is a weird analogy but allow us to show you the true beauty behind it.

So, rewind your clocks back to 2012. LeBron James was at the peak of his powers. As an athlete, he had just crossed his biggest milestone, the NBA title. It was his first. The first of many, but his doubts had finally been cast aside.

The outpour of love and support he received was tremendous. Coaches, executives, and players were finally giving him the flowers he deserved. Coach K, who worked with James in 2o08 and 2012 in the USA Basketball team used an analogy that summed up his brilliance.

Coach K once described LeBron James’ mind as a house of glass!

Mike Krzyzewski is a basketball guru who has seen the game evolve through the ages. Of course, a guy with his knowledge would best understand someone like LeBron.

He once described basketball in an oddball manner, “The game is a house, and some players only have one or two windows in their house because they can’t absorb any more light,“. We can definitely understand the parallels he is drawing. With light here being the metaphorical understanding of the game.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Coach K said,

“When I met LeBron, he only had a few windows, but then he learned how beautiful the game can be, so he put more windows in. Now he sees the damn game so well, it’s like he lives in a glass building. He has entered a state of mastery. There’s nothing he can’t do. God gave him a lot but he is using everything. He’s one of the unique sports figures of all time, really, and he’s right in that area where it’s all come together.”

His description of LeBron is perfect. At the time, he was at the pinnacle of the game. 3rd straight MVP award and a title, nobody could touch James. He had done it.

And the metaphorical light entering his mind was illuminating every corner of it. James deciphered the game at a level that nobody could. This is a statement that we could say holds true even to this day.

King James’ evolution has been immaculate

Just when you think a person cannot get better, they can truly surprise you. LeBron James in the last 10 years has been a far superior version of a player than he was the first 10 years.

The experience that he has gathered over time has coalesced into creating the near-perfect basketball player. James’s IQ has seemingly gotten better.

Over time, we feel as though Coach K’s words have had a deeper meaning. In his 20th season, he led the Lakers to the Conference Finals after starting the season 2-10.

To add to Coach’s words, we can only say that now, LeBron’s mind isn’t just a house of glass but rather, it is a house illuminated by the light.
