"James Harden Does Not Stay in Great Shape": Skip Bayless Discards 76ers' Troubled Superstar's Achievements Amid Standoff with Daryl Morey

The Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden’s standoff is at a critical juncture. The 76ers President Daryl Morey has made it clear that Harden will be staying with the organization. This has led to anger from the player, who called Morey a liar in a recent video. Now, Skip Bayless has had his say on the matter. Speaking on Twitter, Bayless questioned whether Harden was worth the trouble he has caused multiple times in his career.

The 34-year-old has a bit of a habit of forcing trades despite his franchise’s wishes. Harden did something similar with the Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets. Now, he is poised to spend the rest of the trade window pushing for a move. Whether he will be successful remains to be seen.

James Harden hits back at Daryl Morey for rejecting trade request

There are still a number of teams, including his former home Houston Rockets who will snap at the opportunity of signing Harden. One of the best scorers in the history of the league, there is little doubt that he has the talent to succeed.

However, at 34, Harden is forcing his 3rd big trade without having made the kind of impact that was expected of him. Skip Bayless is unsure whether he is worth the trouble that he causes, anymore.

Speaking on Twitter, Bayless claimed that Daryl Morey was one of the few people who was still fascinated with Harden:

“James Harden does not stay in great shape, [he’s] almost 34. At some point he’ll be more trouble than worth. But last year, he did lead NBA in assists. Vs Celts in playoffs, he did score 45 and 42. (But in other 5, averaged 14 … only 9 in G7). Morey is still fascinated by him. But is anyone else?”

While Harden did have his moments in the NBA last season, he came short when the 76ers needed him the most. The lack of interest in defense, as well as offensive inconsistency, is bound to result in doubt for quite a few teams.

Skip Bayless recently claimed Harden should retire with Houston Rockets

There is little doubt that Bayless has run out of patience with Harden’s antics. After consistent reports of him wanting another big move, Bayless had gone on a rant, while speaking on Undisputed.

Bayless talked about how Harden had not even come close to fulfilling the kind of potential he had. Furthermore, he claimed no contending team should be interested in signing him.

Bayless was of the opinion that James Harden should simply retire “into the sunset.” He suggested that the player should take a $50 million contract with the Rockets, and simply stop trying to compete.
