Nets superstar James Harden has an abysmal Game 5 performance, which leaves Skip Bayless and NBA Twitter outraging about the same

The Brooklyn Nets overcame all the ‘troubles’ that people assumed they would have after Game 4. The Nets came back home, James Harden made his way to the lineup, and the Nets secured the win. Kevin Durant scored a mammoth 49 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and dished 10 assists. Jeff Green rose to the occasion and scored 27 points, while Blake Griffin added 17 points as well.
James Harden, despite returning to the floor, could not contribute much. Harden played for 46 minutes, yet finished the game with 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. His performance was quite shocking for everyone. Although no one expected him to go off for 50 in his return, these numbers are not what one expects of a star of his caliber.
Skip Bayless was first to the party and made multiple remarks about the same, starting the proceedings off with this.
So far James Harden is “playing” without really playing.

Skip Bayless and NBA Twitter show no mercy to James Harden
Tonight was not James Harden’s night. However, his return provided the morale booster that KD needed to go off in this crucial game.
Despite the impact Harden’s return had, his individual performance was nothing short of abysmal. Skip Bayless pointed out the same multiple times.
James Harden looks like he’s playing basketball for the first time in his life. COME ON, JAMES, IT’S NOT LIKE YOU’VE BEEN OUT FOR TWO OR THREE YEARS.

Skip said Mike James would be a better fit at starting PG for the Nets.
James Harden, who led the NBA in scoring in ’18, ’19 and ’20, averaging as many as 36 a game, just scored his first points in this game with 7:20 left in the third quarter. Just mind-boggling. The Nets would’ve been better off playing Mike James at PG. Seriously.

Meanwhile, NBA Twitter was not too far behind. They had a gala time making fun of the Beard as well.

While others may mock James, it was his role as the great ‘decoy’ and his energy on the court that contributed to the win. The Nets would like to wrap things up in Game 6. They head to Milwaukee for Game 6, which takes place on Thursday.
