"Kevin Durant beat LeBron James in making good movies as well": Fans troll Nets and Lakers stars after 'Two Distant Strangers' wins KD his first Oscar

The internet reacts to Nets superstar and 2-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant winning his first Oscar. LeBron James caught a few strays as a result.

Kevin Durant and Mike Conley have co-produced ‘Two Distant Strangers’, which won an Oscar in the Best Short Film category. KD’s agent Rich Kleiman was a co-producer of the short film that won the Academy Award a few hours ago.

The movie is a science fiction drama that is centered around the lives of Black Americans and police shootings. It depicts a black character in a time loop that keeps ending with his own death every time.

This project was directed by Free and Martin Desmond Roe. Brooklyn-based rapper Joey Bada$$ was cast in a lead role for this project, and he delivered the goods amazingly well.

NBA Fans troll LeBron James and Kevin Durant after the latter wins an Oscar

As expected, a ton of members from the NBA community are lauding Mike Conley and Kevin Durant for unlocking a lifetime achievement. It has also become a trollfest of sorts for some less agreeable users of the platform:

Kobe was the first NBA player to win an Oscar, which he got for the short film ‘Dear Basketball’ in 2018. Kevin Durant has not been given the award per se, but his involvement in a movie that did win one is definitely worth mentioning.

The Brooklyn Nets seem redoubtably strong at the moment, and are betting favorites to win the East. Kevin Durant will have a big role to play in their playoff run.
