"Kevin Durant, I'm paying too much for you to be chilling": When the Nets star trash talked a Pelicans fan and hit 3 straight 3-pointers

Kevin Durant continues to be a man of the people. He acknowledged a fan’s story of how he once got trash talked by KD in New Orleans.

The Nets star continues to be a revelation in Brooklyn Nets colors. He compiled an easy 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor against the Chicago Bulls tonight. After getting the Nets the W, Durant went back to his Twitter and spotted a few comments.

One of them was about how Anthony Davis passes up a ton of shots and settles for jumpers. The comment was painting AD in a bad light, but also replying to another accusing KD of being passive.

KD’s reply was obvious, but the tonality also reflected his good spirits after their W on the night.

Kevin Durant endorses a Pelicans fan’s story

It must have been refreshing for him to find a fan story that paints him in a positive light. The fan in question claimed to have attended a Pelicans game courtside with KD playing for the Thunder.

“I was courtside in Nola and I told KD I paid too much money for him to be chilling. He looked at me and said this not a video game. Then he hit the next 2 3’s. I told him that’s that video game stuff I want to see lol.”

Now that’s a likely tale, isn’t it? We’re pretty sure that the likes of ESPN and TNT would’ve picked up on an incident like this, even if it wasn’t on national television.

KD, however, did not dismiss the story outright. In his mind, this must have actually been an image-booster. So he admitted to not having memory of such an incident ever happening. But he conceded that it could’ve taken place.
