The Phoenix Suns are on fire right now! They’ve won seven straight games and are 8-0 when Kevin Durant suits up for them. The new-found team has been working wonders and are looking like a serious threat in the West. It’s not only the Suns who are currently boasting an incredible record, but also KD himself.

Durant hasn’t lost a game since January 4th! He’s 23-2 in his last 25 games, and has been helping his team win while being the efficient self he is!

So far this season, KD is averaging 29.1 points on 61.7% from 2s, 40.4% from 3s, and 91.9% from the Free Throw line.

However, when Durant saw this, he took it as a chance to mock the CBA.
Kevin Durant mocks the CBA and its minimum 65 games rule
The new CBA was recently announced after the players association and the owners met a collective agreement. One of the biggest changes in the CBA was the eligibility for major awards and honors. While there was already a minimum number of games for statistical honors(58 games), such as scoring titles and more, this new eligibility is rather ridiculous.
I get the importance of limiting load management, but these new criterion limits players who were actually injured, and not sidelined by their teams. The best example of the same is Kevin Durant this season. He was putting together a season for the History books before suffering an MCL injury. Even after returning, Durant has been putting up wonderful numbers, that too with a whole new team.
Despite averaging 29.1 points for the season on extraordinary shooting stats, KD won’t be considered for any honors, at least according to the new CBA. Knowing this, he took a shot at the same.
Don’t count. Didn’t play 65 games https://t.co/slaYSpBrpj

While I don’t think he is affected by missing out on honors this year, it’s KD’s way of showing how he doesn’t like the new CBA.
Can Durant lead the Suns to their first NBA Championship?
The Phoenix Suns are looking good. Having won seven straight games, they head to Los Angeles to play their final two games of the season. It is there where they’d decide the fate of their first round playoff matchup. At the moment, they can face anyone, the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, Pelicans, or even the Timberwolves.
However, their matchups won’t affect the Suns much. They have Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, and a solid bench. As long as the Suns do what they do best, they shall be able to cross their opponents and possibly clinch the West.
This year is probably the best shot the Suns have had and will have at winning a title. Knowing KD, he wouldn’t want to squander that away.
