Charles Barkley has never been one to mince his words when it comes to his ‘expert analysis’ while on ‘Inside the NBA’. That’s what makes him and Shaquille O’Neal unique as they never sugarcoat any of their takes and while saying it how it is, they manage to make the audience laugh.

Chuck roasting mediocre teams never gets old and this is exactly what happened when Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith tried to praise his hometown team, the New York Knicks.
The Knicks finished off a nail-biting thriller against the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden which had a series of ups and downs for both teams. RJ Barrett even sent the game into overtime with an impressive coast-to-coast dunk at the end of regulation.
In OT however, the Knicks would go onto lose 123-121 on their home floor after Jalen Brunson would miss a potential game-winning 3.
Charles Barkley hilariously claims the Knicks need a lot more than ‘one piece’
Charles Barkley and the usual ‘inside the NBA’ crew were discussing the New York Knicks-Toronto Raptors game when Kenny claimed the Knicks just need one more piece to their roster for them to be a dangerous threat out East.
Chuck took note of this and hilariously suggested that the Knicks need that ‘one piece’ to be someone like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or Giannis Antetokounmpo. When those names weren’t enough, he moved onto retired legends like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
Kenny: “[The Knicks] are probably another piece away from trying to be an elite team.”
Chuck: “LeBron, Giannis, KD. … Kareem, Wilt, Magic, Bird.” 🤣 pic.twitter.com/dUl3RKTQqO

As expected, this prompted Shaquille O’Neal to burst out laughing as he always does when Barkley says something slick about a team or a person. It’s safe to say that the hundreds of millions of dollars Turner Sports put into their TNT hosts was more than worth it.
The New York Knicks currently
The New York Knicks, after having their ‘magical’ run to the Playoffs in 2021 against the Atlanta Hawks, looked like a scrappy and competitive team that could catch the top teams out East by surprise on any given night.
This of course, didn’t happen as they missed the Playoffs last year. This 2022-23 season has been a bit different as they currently boast a 25-20 record and are the 6th seed. The difference between the 6th and the 11th seed however, is merely 4.5 games and so if the Knicks were to falter, they could very easily lose their guaranteed postseason spot.
