Kobe Bryant Father’s day video: NBA and Lakers legend honored with emotional ‘GirlDad’ tribute
On the occasion of Father’s day, fans honored Kobe and mourned his death, with ESPN posting a heartwarming ‘girldad’ tribute video.
Kobe Byrant was more than a player to the world. The unfortunate death of Kobe shocked fans around the globe and 5 months since, things are yet to sink in. Kobe, Gianna (Kobe’s Daughter), and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash in January.
Father’s day ‘Girldad’ tribute for Kobe Bryant
Social media platforms were flooded with the images of Kobe Byrant and Gianna to pay tribute to the father-daughter relation on Father’s day. Kobe was referred to as “Girl Dad” as he was always beside his daughters and was the biggest supporter of Women Sports and Women Basketball, specifically.
ESPN posted a tribute to honor Kobe and Gianna, featuring other athletes with a hashtag ‘Girldad’ on Father’s day.

Vanessa Bryant remembering her late husband Kobe Bryant
Vanessa Bryant posted a photo on Instagram of Kobe with their four daughters, Natalia, Gianna, Capri, Bianka. Vanessa wrote “Happy Father’s Day to the BEST daddy in the world. We miss you so much, we love you forever and always. LOVE, Nani, Gigi, BB, VB, and Koko.”

Recently Vanessa was appealing for the Kobe and Gianna Bryant Helicopter Safety Act to be passed following their deaths. In a statement, Vanessa said, “I strongly urge that the United States Congress pass a federal law that would improve the safety of helicopters operating in the country.”

Kobe was a fierce competitor on the court who can destroy the opponent single handily. Kobe Bryant will go into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame next year.
