"Lakers aren't winning a title if they lose to Wizards without Anthony Davis": Shannon Sharpe criticizes LeBron James and co for sterile performances in 3-loss streak

Shannon Sharpe is highly critical of the Lakers these days. He believes that losing to the Wizards, even without Anthony Davis, is a panic-worthy issue.

The Lakers are in free fall at the moment. 3 losses in 3 games without Dennis Schroder and Anthony Davis has exposed their depth issues. LeBron James was not looking to go very hard in any of their losses.

James has also been shooting atrociously in the month of February – worse even than Russell Westbrook. The King has been given the burden of scoring, facilitating and at times also being the shot-blocker of the team.

We’re beginning to see the 2017-18 regular season version of James. That was another season when LeBron had begun the season on a hot shooting streak, but regressed later on. LeBron is also starting to conserve his energy on both ends of the floor without the ball.

Overall, the Lakers definitely seem like they’re worse off than last year. On the other hand, competitors like the Sixers, Nets and Clippers are arguably better. It’s going to be a real dogfight for them in the playoffs this time around.

The Wizards may have been a lowly 13th in the East coming into this game, but they were on a 4-game win streak. They’d beaten the Rockets, Nuggets, Blazers and Celtics in this streak – all of them arguably playoff teams on their night.

Even so, Shannon expected a better performance from the Lakeshow – especially after a great first half. He said as much on Twitter in his mentions.

The Lakers definitely need to pull their socks up if a believer like Shannon Sharpe is starting to lose faith in them. This newly-formed Brooklyn Nets superteam has definitely been giving him some nervous nights.
