LeBron James had some rave reviews for LaMelo Ball last night. Both of them had an epic duel as the Lakers emerged victorious.

For the first time in his career, LaMelo Ball faced the force of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The matchup between LaMelo and LBJ has been much anticipated and hyped for quite some time.

The match didn’t disappoint fans as it turned out to be a great duel between the two stars. LaMelo put up an insane stat line of 26 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Although, his efforts came up short as the Hornets failed against the defending champions 116-105.

Superstar LeBron James, who had a great 37 points and 8 rebounds game, was impressed with what he saw from the 19-year-old. He even praised LaMelo for his speed, quickness and shot-making ability. In a postgame interview James said:

“He’s damn good to be his age. His speed, his quickness, his ability to make shots and baskets in the paint … and he’s going to only get better. Every game is a learning experience for him. He’s going to get better as the season goes on and his career goes on.”

‘Both LaMelo Ball and Lonzo are unique players’: LeBron James praises the Ball brothers

Out of the three Ball brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo have made a career in the league. Both of them have found their fair share of success with their respective teams.

Lonzo Ball actually did play with LeBron James for the 2018-2019 season. Over the course of the season, James had kept on mentioning that ‘Zo was definitely a great player with great potential. On Thursday night, after his match with the Hornets, LBJ mentioned how the two Ball brothers have a unique style of play. James said:

“Him (LaMelo) and ‘Zo are two very unique players in our league and they showcase that every night.”

There is no doubt that LaMelo Ball is a talented young boy. He is definitely a strong case for the Rookie of the Year award this season. For the 6-foot-6 point guard, Ball has been putting up a staggering 16 points, 6.2 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game. The two-time Rookie of the Month winner has also been one of the main reasons for the Charlotte Hornets’ success this season.
