Skip Bayless has seemingly left his hate boner for LeBron James for the duration of Game 5. He’s backing the Lakers to take a 10-point win.

Bayless has been riding with LeBron and the Lakers for this series, and with good reason. LeBron James has been to the playoffs 14 times in his long career. Not once has he been bounced out at the initial first round hurdle.
Chris Paul, on the other hand, has only been to the Conference Finals once. The Point God is also leading a young and upcoming team to the playoffs with relatively low experience. Its clearly tougher to win in a newer setup while facing the NBA’s defending champions.
However, a few cruel twists of fate mean that this series has been marred by injury through all 5 games. We certainly weren’t bargaining for Paul being affected by injury for all 4 games. Or for Anthony Davis to sustain a groin injury.
But as things stand, the Lakers trail the Suns 26-31 after the first quarter without Anthony Davis in Game 5. And things got worse as the game progressed.
Skip Bayless melts down after predicting that LeBron James will have a big game
The FS1 Undisputed analyst seems to be keeping a close eye on Lakers vs Suns Game 5. He also discussed the probability of LeBron having a big game in their studio session. In fact, he also sided against Chris Broussard when the latter said the Lakers are going to lose.
Bayless also annotated his expectations from James and the Lakers on NBA Twitter before the game started off:
“Lakers 115, Suns 105. Bron: 35/15/10. Come on, King, just put your head down like Kawhi’s been doing AND DRIVE IT RIGHT DOWN THE SUNS’ THROATS. Don’t be afraid to get to the free throw line, make 15 of 20. Get Ayton in foul trouble. Your night, “GOAT.” Save the season.”

It seems that Skip’s wishes are becoming less and less likely to come true as the game progresses. James looks clearly off his best and isn’t able to force the issue like he used to, back in 2018.
