It’s only 26 games into the 72-game season, but Anthony Davis is already convinced that LeBron James should be awarded this year’s NBA MVP trophy.

James is showing no signs of a slowdown yet. In his 18th NBA season, ‘The King’ has been putting on a show. On Wednesday night, the 16-time All-Star had yet another dominant performance in yet another overtime thriller. He had 25 points, 7 assists and a game-winning defensive play, to help the Lakers beat the Thunder 114-113.
6-foot-10 Anthony Davis believes that the 4-time champion should be the winner of this year’s NBA MVP trophy. Davis said:
“He should win. You never know all the politics, but he should.”

Frank Vogel continues to back LeBron James as this year’s MVP
LeBron James has made it to a historic 16 All-NBA team selections in his 17 years. It’s a little absurd that the 4-time league MVP won his last MVP in the 2012-2013 season.
According to James’ coach Frank Vogel, when it is all said and done this season, LeBron will be the one winning the MVP. Frank Vogel also spoke about his defensive and offensive abilities, post the Lakers-Thunder game and went on to say:
“Yeah, he made several defensive plays, to be honest with you. He’s really leading the charge. But that’s what LeBron does on both sides of the ball. That’s why he’s probably going to be this year’s MVP: carrying the load offensively and quarterbacking the defense, the No. 1 defense in the league, and thanking these tough assignments, and making these plays down the stretch. So, he’s playing terrific.”

Coming off a championship season, LeBron James and his Lakers are strong contenders to win the championship back-to-back. Behind LeBron’s 25.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game, the Lakers have an impressive 20-6 record to place 2nd in the Western Conference.
