LeBron James MVP 2019/20 season

LeBron James has revealed why he thinks he should be the MVP for the 2019/20 NBA season in his first real NBA Bubble interview.

The NBA dropped a bombshell recently when it revealed that the performances in the remaining 8 league games won’t be considered for the yearly awards.

4-time MVP winner LeBron might have seen his chances reduced with this decision. The Lakers’ star has kept his game going in his 17th year in the league. However, the icon tried to strengthen his chances to win the award in his first real media interaction since coming to the NBA Bubble

LeBron James MVP 2019/20 NBA season?

The MVP award for the season has boiled down to two superstars: LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

LeBron has been in brilliant form this season. The 3-time NBA champion has led the league in assists for the first time in his storied career. However, Giannis has had a brilliant season so far.

The reigning MVP has led his Milwaukee Bucks to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Bucks currently own the best record in the league(53-12).

The critics have been divided over weighing LeBron’s performances this season. To be the biggest superstar in the league at the age of 35 is a testament to his work ethic. Although LeBron has been playing great basketball in his 17th year in the league, the reigning MVP has remained ahead of him. Giannis is also the frontrunner to win the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Although LeBron leads the league in assists, the Greek Freak leads the Lakers’ superstar in almost all other categories.

Why LeBron feels he should win the MVP award?

LeBron last won the MVP award in 2012-13 season when he was playing for Miami Heat. The Lakers made 8 consecutive finals appearances between 2011-2018 and won 3 championships during this time. LeBron will hope to add a 4th NBA title and 5th award MVP this season.

The Lakers’ superstar remains positive about his chances and feels that he has shown the league that he can do it in the East and in the West.

And now with the Lakers topping the Western conference standings, LeBron feels he has shown the NBA fraternity that he can be the boss wherever he pleases to be.

“As far as the MVP race, I think I’ve shown what I’m capable of doing not only individually but from a team’s perspective. Us being No. 1 in the West.”

The kid from Akron also added the notion about performing in the western conference:

“There was a lot of conversation about, ‘LeBron can do those things in the East, but if he ever came to the West what could he do?”

The 3-time NBA champion also spoke about feeling well about leading the Lakers to the top of the conference.

“I heard all of that and to be able to have our team at the top of the Western Conference and playing the way that we were playing at that time and the way I was playing. That’s definitely a good feeling.”

LeBron James has a fire in his belly going into the NBA Bubble. He strongly feels this could be the year that he and the Lakers get that elusive NBA title.

With age not on his side, ‘King James’ would be hoping he can get across the line this time, better his NBA finals record and win the championship as a tribute to Kobe Bryant.
