'LeBron James thought he's Damian Lillard': CJ McCollum joins in on banter about the Lakers star after he airballs a logo 3-pointer against Wolves

LeBron James added to a growing list of Shaqtin-a-Fool plays for the Lakers this season with a hilarious miss from the logo.

The Lakers romped to a comparatively easy victory over Minnesota last night. The Wolves are mired at the rock bottom of the Western Conference standings and will be missing D’Angelo Russell for up to 6 more weeks.

This game was close right up until the final few minutes of the 4th quarter. James spearheaded a Lakers surge with 3 shots to start the 4th quarter off. He then dished out an assist to Gasol for a double-digit lead. Finally, James knocked down a fadeaway J to put the game to bed.

But accompanying this irresistible performance were two big bloopers. One of them was when Alex Caruso saved him from the embarrassment of conceding a transition bucket. The other is the incident in question.

CJ McCollum joins Twitter in trolling LeBron James

LeBron James brought the ball up the floor with only a few seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter. Unlike his coast-to-coast move against the Nuggets, James opted to take a long-range bomb this time.

The result was hilarious, though not entirely unexpected. CJ McCollum even joined in on the banter on Twitter for this shot.

We’ve all given James credit for his excellent basketball IQ over the years, which is why this sticks out even more than usual. If you’re going to hoist a 40-foot shot to end a quarter, make sure of these things:

  1. You are able to run the shot clock down so the opponents can’t take their own shot after yours.
  2. Your shot is lightly contested at best
  3. You are actually in a shooting rhythm

James failed to tick off a single of these three boxes, so the end result was anything but surprising. Still, he’ll lose about two winks of sleep over it given the easy manner of his win last night.
