‘LeBron James will be drinking wine tonight’: Lakers star rolls ankle on Opening Night, confirms availability for Christmas Day game vs Mavericks
LeBron James rolled his ankle in the 4th Quarter of the Opening Day matchup against the Clippers
LeBron James did not play the final eight minutes of the game tonight after he rolled his left ankle. The Lakers ended up losing to the Clippers 116-109. LBJ exited the game having played 28 minutes and scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 turnovers.
When asked about ankle after the game, LeBron said, “I turned it pretty good, but I don’t think it’s going to stop me from playing on Friday.” He says he will receive around the clock treatment and that should result in him healing faster.
LeBron says he’s definitely feeling the ankle he turned toward the end of the game but he thinks he’ll be okay for Friday’s Christmas game with “round the clock treatment” & then also drinking some good wine tonight, saying “it will go right down my body directly to the ankle”

LeBron James says he will play on Friday
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are going to face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas day. James sees tremendous potential in Luka Doncic and would be eager to play against him on Christmas day.
LeBron believes that there is an ample amount of time before their next match and he would be ready to take the floor come Christmas. Upon being asked how he would take care of his ankle, the 36-year-old veteran said:
“I’ll go home and have dinner right now,” James said. “I’ll ice it, and I’ll drink some wine that will flow right to the ankle. … I can make sure I can drink on the left side of my body so it just goes right down to my left leg, right down to my ankle.”
“But I’ll be around the clock. I’ll wake up [Wednesday] morning before I leave the house, and also I’ll get some more treatment at the facility and just continue to do that.”
We shave to wait and see how the Lakers take the call on the situation. Whether they would be cautious and make LBJ sit this out, or would he be healthy enough to play on Friday.
