“LeBron James With Another Defy the Impossible Performance!”: Kendrick Perkins Praises ‘The King’ as Lakers Overcome 25-Point Deficit
The Los Angeles Lakers completed a comeback tonight, which was nothing short of miraculous. Down 25-points at the half, LeBron James led the Lakers to a 75-point second half to beat the Blazers on the road.
LeBron James led the way with 37 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Thomas Bryant had a huge game, scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder added 24 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.
The Lakers recorded a 121-112 win at the end to mark their third win in the last four games.
This was the third-largest comeback win for any team LBJ has been a part of. The Lakers committed zero turnovers in the second half, after giving the ball up 12 times in the first half. After the win, LeBron’s former teammate took it to his Twitter to compliment the King.
Kendrick Perkins calls tonight a ‘defy the impossible’ performance by LeBron James
What we witnessed tonight was something very special. The Los Angeles Lakers flipped a switch during the half-time break and came back as a different team in the 2nd half. The Lakers shot 56.5% from the field, 40% from the deep, and 81% from the charity stripe in the 2nd half.
Just like us, Kendrick Perkins was amazed by what he witnessed and took it to his Twitter to talk about the same.
37 and 11 & 4 coming back from down 15 on the road? Another one of those defy the impossible performances that we take for granted by Mr. LeBron James. Never mind me tho, Carry on…
— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) January 23, 2023
Sure, Perk made an error in excitement and wrote 15 instead of 25. What we saw tonight from LeBron James, especially in the 2nd half, was incredible. He scored 20 of his 37 points in the second half and had eight rebounds and two blocks as well.
If the Lakers can keep stringing wins like this, they might make their way back to the postseason.
How far is LeBron from Kareem’s scoring record?
With his 37-point performance tonight, LeBron James inched closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He’s now 224 points away from becoming the NBA’s All-Time Scoring leader and breaking a record that has been up there for over 40 years.
If we are to go by his current season average of 29.6 points a game, he is poised to break the record in the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 7th.
