NBA officials committed one of their worst blunders of the year with a phantom foul call on LeBron James. Blake Griffin was in hysterics.

The Lakers succumbed to their first 2-game slide of the season last night at the hands of Blake Griffin’s Pistons. It was the back end of a back-to-back set on the road. Understandably, there was a little bit of fatigue in the Lakers’ ranks, what with Anthony Davis also ruled out with a quad contusion.
Other than LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers were simply dead in the water on offense all night long. Alex Caruso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were so bad that Talen Horton-Tucker scored more points than the duo combined in only 14 minutes of action.
Kyle Kuzma had the best game of his season, but his efforts eventually were in vain. The Lakers turned ice cold in the 4th quarter, going on a scoreless run of over 7 minutes. To add insult to injury for James, this incident happened.

How Blake Griffin and LeBron James reacted to a ridiculous foul call
Blake Griffin received the ball in the left corner at the start of the 3rd quarter. LeBron stepped up to guard the former Clippers forward, and he began trying to get his hands on the ball. At one point, James had his hand pretty close to Blake’s face, so Blake abruptly flopped his head around.
The sudden nature of his movement probably made the refs think James had caught him in the face. They blew the whistle for this, causing LeBron to go incandescent about the ruling – with good reason. Blake, meanwhile, was beside himself with laughter – staring James squarely in the face. No doubt he had a couple of choice things to say about James’s own antics.

James would go on to have a terrible end to the game, shooting blanks all through the 4th quarter. His cold streak was symbolic of the Lakers’ wretched night all around.
