"Maria Taylor said pandemic sem*n and Adam Silver went Kobe no-flinch mode": NBA fans react to ESPN anchor's gaffe ahead of Bucks' Game 4 win vs Suns

Rachel Nichols would probably be smiling somewhere as she watched Maria Taylor mess up on live TV, mispronouncing ‘season’ as ‘seme*’.

The Milwaukee Bucks have leveled the NBA Finals with a morale-boosting comeback win at home. They trailed the Phoenix Suns by as many as 9 points in the 4th last night. With Giannis facing a wall every time he drove, the Suns made his supporting cast beat them.

But Khris Middleton’s clutch gene and the Bucks’ defense, especially on Booker and CP3, helped them complete a comeback. This was Middleton’s first good performance of the series and it came up at a crucial time.

One would think given that ABC/ESPN has been playing host to the NBA Finals on national TV for over 2 decades now, they’d sort their halftime show out by now. But people seem to need to temper their expectations given the lack of any real change made by ESPN.

Maria Taylor commits live TV gaffe, Adam Silver goes Kobe no-flinch mode

Taylor was appointed as the host for NBA Gametime ahead of the 2020 Bubble Finals last year. Many fans have called her a better on-stage presence than Rachel Nichols, which makes today’s gaffe all the funnier.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver had joined Maria in the studio ahead of tonight’s Game 4 action. The ESPN host may have been suffering a bit of nerves, given how badly she messed up.

NBA fans found the perfect opportunity to critique Maria Taylor at this point. The NBA subreddit is abuzz with the conversation surrounding this gaffe, and with good reason.

There was a big outpouring of public emotion in Taylor’s favor when her feud with Rachel Nichols was revealed by a New York Times article some days back. NBA fans seem to have made a U-turn on the charismatic ESPN host after this incident.
