If there was one aspect of Michael Jordan’s being that separated him from the lot, it would be his competitive vigor. The Chicago Bulls legend doesn’t go 6-0 in the NBA Finals without having a maniacal drive to win at the biggest stage possible.

Whether it was a game of table tennis against Christian Laettner or a coin tossing game against his security guards, Michael Jordan wanted to win at everything he did. Even after retiring from the NBA in 2003, he continued to find new ways to channel his competitive drive and spirit.
Golf was something Jordan took a liking to very early on in his basketball career, playing it while he was at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Since then, he’s played the sport to keep his mind at ease while also talking trash to any and everybody he golfs with.
Michael Jordan trash-talked Barack Obama
Barack Obama saw Michael Jordan blossom into a superstar in the NBA through a very personal lens as he is a Chicago native. The two share a great relationship with one another but when they hit the green together, it seems as though the trash0talk and the banter takes over.
Jordan especially didn’t hold back when talking about the former United States President, saying back in 2014, “I never played with Obama, But I would. But nah, that’s okay, I’d take him out, he’s a hack/ I never said he wasn’t a great politician. I just said he was a sh*tty golfer.”
Obama would clap back at the NBA legend, letting him know that while Jordan is better at him in golf, the only reason for that would be because that’s all he had been doing since retiring. He would be better than him if he had MJ’s time to relax.
Michael Jordan gambled millions on golf
Being competitive while also being a gambler is a combination of traits that aren’t exactly ones that could help someone save a ton of money. Michael Jordan unfortunately, had both of these traits and would put millions of dollars on the line without hesitation.
He has done everything from lose $1.2 million to Richard Esquinas to being liable for a $57,000 check to notorious golf hustler, ‘Slim’ Bouler. He would however, pay close to half of the $1.2 million he owed Esquinas.
