Michael Jordan and his competitive spirit might never die, not even on his death bed we reckon. A challenge to death himself? Knowing MJ, that’s entirely possible. Today’s story revolves around the same subject, his competitiveness.

He does not want to be beaten, ever. Even at the ripe old age of 52, when he was the Chairman of the Hornets, MJ was still competing.
As per Suns Center, Bismack Biyombo, Jordan would challenge young kids to 1v1s and beat them. Yes, an old Michael Jordan still schooling NBA players. Classic.
Bismack Biyombo recalls Michael Jordan and the strength he imparted to others
The Phoenix Suns center was asked about his relationship with Michael Jordan ahead of the Suns’ clash with the Hornets, and the Congolese only had good things to say.
He talked about how Jordan is always there to guide the young players entering the league and how he was unwavering when challenged. An attribute that makes him the legend he is today.
Biyomobo says,
“Mike is Mike, man. I’ve seen him play one-on-one with players after the games, and one by one was taking them out. So this was probably I think seven, eight years ago. He would come into practice and just play one-on-one with players and just kill them, 100 percent. I {didn’t} think he could move like that.”
Yes, we are not surprised. Jordan is known to take himself too seriously. And him beating players 1v1 is a tale that is getting as old as time.
But to do it at age 52 (by our approximation) is nothing short of unbelievable.
Suns Demolish the Hornets
After much praise about MJ’s team, it looks as though Biyombo and the Suns gave that little to no regard. They went on to beat the Hornets by 31 points.
The Hornets are an abysmal 13-36 this season. With injury woes and superstar Lamelo Ball not playing as well or as often as they’d like, the Hornets are tanking.
Perhaps MJ would like a coveted prize like Victor Wembanyama and maybe with His Airness at the helm, Wemby might reach an untouchable ceiling.
But not before they play 1v1. There is no way Jordan gets to draft someone like Wembanyama and not challenge him. We are wishful thinking, but man, imagine how that story line would play out.
