Kevon Looney has done it again. The Warriors’ 6ft 9’ center fighting with Anthony Davis in the Warriors’ Game 1 at Chase Center against the Lakers, took us back to the 90s with another Dennis Rodman-like game.

AD is 6ft 11’ and his 23 rebounds in the game make sense because he has a couple of inches on everybody else on the floor.
Looney getting 23 boards was what kept the Warriors in the game almost throughout the game. And so, the internet paid the Warriors big his due respect.
NBA Twitter comes up with Dennis Rodman comparison yet again for Kevon Looney
The Warriors ended up losing Game 1 at their home 112-117. But one of the biggest positives for them in the game was Looney who went for 10 points, 23 rebounds, and 5 assists in just under 30 minutes.
That sent the NBA Twitter to Dennis Rodman nostalgia in no time.
“Kevin Looney having the most-quiet 20+ Rebound game. Modern-day Dennis Rodman-type beat. He’s unreal,” wrote one user.

This comparison did not start last night.
Recalling a Kevin Garnett praise for Looney one user wrote, “Whole time we called Draymond the modern day Dennis Rodman. but shit man it just might be Looney”.

Another brought up his series stats against the Kings.

Looney has upped his game big time for the Dubs
A 3x NBA Champion, Looney, has never been as good as he has been this season. He managed to finish his regular season up with career highs of 7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in close to 24 minutes played, which is also a career-high.
While just getting 5 minutes/game more to play in the post-season, he has taken his game to elite dominance on the board. In 9 games, Looney is averaging 7.7 points, 16.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
Looney is just behind Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins for the highest plus-minus in the Warriors squad. What a great improvement for somebody who was heavily criticized for being slow. The 27-year-old is young enough to develop his game more like Rodman as it progresses.
