"My Basketball Legacy": Jordan Poole Confesses Feeling 'No Pressure' Having Won a Championship with Stephen Curry's Warriors

Too many people in and around the NBA believe that Jordan Poole has a lot to prove this season. Poole, on the other hand, doesn’t feel so. Having won a ring in just his third year has taken the pressure off Poole. While talking to the media, JP has made it clear that he doesn’t lose sleep over his new future in Washington.

Jordan Poole, who won a Championship in 2022 with Stephen Curry and co., has since been traded by the Warriors. After an altercation between Poole and Green, the Warriors were forced to choose between the two as they moved into a new phase in their dynasty. Though Poole was traded away, he is grateful for the opportunities and the chance to win a Championship he received with the Dubs.

Jordan Poole claims his basketball legacy is secure

Jordan Poole has now begun his new journey with the Wizards. Poole was recently asked how he is dealing with the new situation. Poole told the Ringer,

I’m coming from a situation of an organization where it’s so much all the time: media, scrutiny, noise, just, 24/7 highest level of basketball. And I passed that class. Four years, you pass that course, and you learn so much over those four years. And now we got a new course, we got new classes, we’re enrolled into a new situation.”

During the interview with the Ringer, he even spoke about his approach toward new opportunities that might present themselves. Answering the question humbly, Jordan said,

Playing the game I love at the highest level, my family is taken care of, my basketball legacy is taken care of with the ring,” he said. “This is probably the first time in my life I’ll play basketball with no pressure. So that’s kind of how you look at it. But it’s a really good opportunity. It’s a cool opportunity, dope opportunity.

A Champion at the age of 24, JP isn’t worried about his legacy. Poole has confessed to feeling no pressure as he begins his journey in Washington. Jordan believes that the situation in Washington is an opportunity for him to lead his unit in the NBA.

Reddit doesn’t think JP’s legacy is taken care of

The fans on the Reddit forum, r/NBA don’t quite see eye to eye with Poole on his legacy. The fans on the forum believe that a single ring as a role player doesn’t do much. People like user Dr.King Of Okay commented,

Patrick McCaw already cemented his spot in the basketball hall of fame”

Through comments like this, users are poking fun at Poole’s argument about winning a ring being enough for a player’s legacy, which isn’t true. Users are pointing to the fact that Jordan was only a role player on a championship-winning squad, thus proving very little about his capability of winning one by himself.

Another user commented,

Rings culture sure is something.

The comment points to the fact that many fans believe that winning a championship makes a player great by default, which is the case. While a Championship is a team effort, a player’s legacy comes from his performances on the floor. Looks like, according to Reddit, the Poole party hasn’t been as impressive as Jordan believes it to be.
