Kevin Durant and the Nets lost a heartbreaking game 7 to the Warriors. In fact, the game was decided by a matter of inches.

After the game, screenshots revealed that Durant’s insane shot to send the game to overtime was only barely a two pointer. Durant’s foot was just barely over the line, and if he had smaller feet, he might’ve hit a three that would’ve won the game.

Kevin Durant Frustrated After Losing Game 7 Despite Playing Every Second Of Game 7

That kind of heart wrenching loss has to sit unwell for Durant. To know that you could have won the game just by the smallest of margins is the worst feeling in the world.

Durant echoed the same thoughts in a post game interview, blaming his huge feet for being over the line:

The Nets are eliminated from the playoffs despite assembling perhaps the best team in the league, at least on paper. However, injuries doomed the team in the end.

Kyrie Irving went out with an ankle injury and didn’t return after game 2, and Harden played games 5-7 on a sore hamstring. Had this team been healthy, the outcome of this series could have been much different.

Durant and Harden both played every minute of game 7 as the Nets rotation was stretched thin. Kyrie Irving would have certainly helped with that as fatigue caught up with Durant towards the end leading to him taking some very contested shots.
