NBA Free agents 2020

‘NBA free agents 2020’ are going to be in demand shortly. Here we look at the best free agents available in the market and what could be in store for them.

The Free Agency period in the NBA is one of the most exciting periods for basketball enthusiasts. Players switching teams, teams negotiating and different rumors going around all the time.

Due to the break in play, the NBA had to revise its entire schedule. The season will restart in the Orlando Bubble on 30th July and end on 13th October.

The free agency period will begin at 12:01 am EDT on Oct 19 and continue through noon on Oct. 23. Teams and free agents can begin negotiating six hours before the period begins i.e. 6 p.m. EDT on Oct 18.

Top 5 free agents for 2020:-

1.Anthony Davis (LA Lakers)

Arguably the biggest free agent for next season. Davis rejected the player option offered by the Lakers earlier in the season, it was a deal worth $29 million for the 2020-21 season. He is expected to sign re-sign with the Lakers on a four-year deal worth almost $200 million. But due to the reduced salary caps for next season and less revenue generated due to COVID-19, some other team might offer more for AD than the Lakers.

If that happens, we could be in for some chaos in the free agent and NBA trades market.

2.Fred Vanvleet -Toronto Raptors

One of the most improved players in the NBA, winning the title last time around with the Raptors. He has great defensive techniques and can create plays as well. He makes up for his lack of size with is intelligence and reading of the game. Any team looking for a point guard should surely consider him.

3.Gordan Hayward (Player option)- Boston Celtics

The Boston forward has a player option for $34.2 million for next season. He has been playing well and is a regular in the Boston team. So, he should sign, but if he decides not too many teams would looking to sign him up because of his experience and mentality. He is averaging 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season.

4.Joe Harris – Brooklyn Nets

One of the best shooters in the league. His ability to shoot quickly from long range makes him an exciting prospect for teams like the Lakers who lack a quality shooter. Nets having signed Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and possibly looking to make a “big 3′” next season, they won’t be able to afford to keep Harris. Harris is averaging 13.9 points so far this season.

5.Montrezl Harrell – LA Clippers

He has been one of the best players for the Clippers this season. He has had important contributions in both scoring and rebounding for the Clippers of the bench. A player full of energy, and has shown great commitment to his play. He has improved a lot offensively. He is averaging 18.6 points and 7.1 boards so far this season.

Other notable free agents– Brandon Ingram (restricted), Dwight Howard, Serge Ibaka, Tim Hardway Jr, Bogdan Bogdanovic (restricted).
