Giannis made history as he joins the greats Micheal Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon to win MVP and DPOY in the same season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been brilliant in the past 2 seasons, leading Bucks to NBA best records for the second straight year.

Giannis wins his second consecutive MVP Award, says Woj

Adrian Wojnarowski just tweeted a few minutes ago that Giannis Antetokounmpo has won his second straight MVP award. The award was initially supposed to be announced at 2.00 pm ET on NBA TV.

Giannis improved from his previous MVP season. Back in 2018-19, he averaged 27.7ppg, 12.5rpg, and 6apg. He bumped up the numbers to average 29.5ppg, 13.6rpg, and 5.6apg while leading Milwaukee to an NBA best record.

Fans and others speculate Giannis’ case for the MVP award

A lot of noise had been running since the start of the Heat-Bucks series about Giannis’ case for the MVP award. Eventually, the Bucks lost 4-1 to the Heat and a lot of people argued whether Giannis should win the MVP honors this year.

People tend to forget the MVP award is for the regular season performance, and no other player was as good as Giannis was during that period. He was dominating both sides of the floor and was leading the Bucks as a proper floor leader.
