“No Kyrie Irving and we still won, it’s scary hours”: James Harden notches triple-double in his debut, hypes up his first win with Kevin Durant and Nets
James Harden takes to Instagram to let everybody know that it’s ‘scary hours’ once Kyrie Irving makes his return to play.
James Harden’s availability prior to the Brooklyn Nets vs. Orlando Magic game was up in the air. Due to Caris LaVert having something unusual show up in his physical tests, it was still unknown whether or not the James Harden to Brooklyn deal was official.
The 2018 MVP did indeed suit up for the Nets last night against the Magic. He finished the game off by cementing his name in the history books yet again. He became the first player in NBA history to drop a 30-point triple double in a player’s first game with a new team.
It seems as though Brooklyn superstars love breaking records in their debuts. Kyrie Irving became the first player to drop 50 points in a debut, last season.
James Harden can’t wait for Kyrie Irving to make his return to the Nets
Kyrie Irving hasn’t suited up for the Nets in about 2 weeks now. He has been fined approximately $1.6 million in game checks for his unexplained absence from the team.
This didn’t stop the Nets from cashing in their first win in the James Harden era. They beat the Magic 122-115 after a combined 74 points between Kevin Durant and James Harden.
Following the victory, Harden took to his Instagram story to let everyone know that it’s scary hours in Brooklyn. He also acknowledged Kyrie Irving’s absence and claimed they won without him, alluding to bigger things when Irving eventually makes his return.

The ‘fit’ between James Harden and his two fellow superstars was the biggest concern when going through with this trade. Well, after 48 minutes of Harden and KD action, it’s safe to say that at the very least, those two can play together quite well.
