Patrick Beverley has been traded to the Grizzlies and fans react to him once claiming that the Clippers won the title after acquiring Kawhi Leonard.
The Los Angeles Clippers have traded away the final core piece of that 2019 Clips squad that took the Golden State Warriors, at full strength, to 6 games in the first round of the Playoffs. Patrick Beverely has been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies along with Rajon Rondo while Los Angeles receives Eric Bledsoe in return.

Many fans have been getting at LA for making this swap of guards as both Rondo and Beverley contributed a significant amount to the Clippers’ postseason runs. Eric Bledsoe however, can handle the ball just as good as Rondo could and with Kawhi missing the first 6 months of the 2021-22 season, this is an important asset to have.
Bledsoe’s stellar defense will also compensate for the loss of Patrick Beverley. Speaking of who, NBA fans have unearthed an article from a while back that hilariously shed light on how Bev responded to acquiring Leonard via trade, two years ago.
NBA fans react to Patrick Beverley claiming he won the title after the Kawhi Leonard trade.
News of the Los Angeles Clippers trading for Kawhi Leonard reached Patrick Beverley during Summer League in 2019. According to several onlookers, Pat Bev jumped onto a table and yelled, “We just won the f**king title,” in a showcase of his elation.
This however, hasn’t turned out the way Beverley envisioned it. The 2020 Playoffs saw the clips botch a 3-1 lead in the WCSF to the Denver Nuggets while the 2021 Clips fought hard against the Suns in the Conference Finals without Kawhi but fell in 6.
With all due respect I’m so confused why tho 😭

Fast-forward to today and Patrick Beverley isn’t on the Clippers any longer. This isn’t to say that he won’t be able to contribute to an NBA team any longer as he’ll fit quite well on the Memphis Grizzles roster as a locker room presence while bring his defensive chops to the table alongside guys like Dillon Brooks.
