“PJ Tucker has diamonds in his shoes!”: Giannis jokes around with former James Harden teammate as Bucks board team plane to Atlanta for Game 3

Giannis Antetokounmpo showed us all his wholesomely funny side, messing with PJ Tucker as the Bucks boarded their team plane today.

The Greek Freak and PJ Tucker are campaigning to make their first NBA Finals appearance this year. This is easily the Bucks’ best chance of making the Finals and taking the ring in the next couple of years. Knocking Brooklyn out of the playoffs was no mean feat.

They’re tasked with overcoming the Atlanta Hawks in at least one of their next 2 road games. If they’re successful in doing that, they will have avoided giving the Hawks the edge in the Conference Finals.

Game 2 of the series had some great signs for the Bucks. They went on a tear in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and took the game away. Their lead ballooned from single digits to 40 points by the end of the 3rd.

Now the Hawks led by Nate McMillan are definitely made of sterner stuff than they showed Friday. But will the Bucks be able to impose their will once again? They certainly look at ease as a team, judging from the footage we just gleaned of Giannis and PJ Tucker.

As a Nigerian immigrant to Greece, Antetokounmpo sold wares as a youngster on the streets of Sepolia, Athens. This is probably where he got all of his charisma from. The way he messes with PJ just shows how much of a pro he is at pulling teammates’ legs:

“Have you ever seen diamonds in shoes? Have you ever seen diamond shoes before? Right here, Royalty. Big money. Big money! Hey look at my shoes!”

As we all know by this point, PJ Tucker is the Shoe-ru. He might actually have diamond-studded shoes tucked away that we don’t know of, yet. At this point, everything in terms of sneaker heat would be on the table for the forward.

He’d certainly know better than to bust them out on a rainy day, though. He definitely knows better than to walk in socks and flip-flops in the rain like Giannis.
