The Clippers swept their season series against the Lakers with a wire-to-wire blowout at the Staples Center. None of the Clippers’ starters played more than 31 minutes. Most of the game from the second quarter onwards was essentially garbage time.
Lakers nation is without an active playmaker on its roster at the moment. LeBron James is down again, rehabbing for his ankle pain, while Dennis Schroder is out because of Covid protocols.
It looks increasingly like they will slip into the play-in berth as the season wears on. LeBron is feeding the pessimism by claiming he’ll never be 100% again, though this might also be a psychological ploy.
Rajon Rondo is bullish about the Clippers’ postseason prospects
The Clippers, on the other hand, have taken huge strides from last season. They got rid of redundant players like Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell, instead getting players with more diverse skillsets. Their roster sports a completely different look today.
Rajon Rondo seems to be loving life playing for Steve Ballmer’s team, and he didn’t hesitate to let us all know that his Clippers have championship DNA and are legitimate contenders.
“It’s an unselfish organization. Starts with the GM, the president, trickles down to coach Tyronn Lue and then the players. I love this organization, since day 1, since I came, they’ve treated me like royalty.”

“So it’s only fair that I give it back with 110%, so we definitely have the DNA. I feel like I personally have that blueprint, a lot of guys in this locker room have that blueprint.”
“Tyronn Lue is a multiple-time champion himself, Kawhi Leonard, Serge, so we have the DNA. We have all the talent and the blueprint to do it, it’s just a matter of coming together and doing the job with one another.”
