A “dozen teams” have shown their interest in acquiring Ben Simmons if Philly makes their All-Star available in the market.

Ben Simmons is easily one of the top young players in the league today. Despite being only 24-years-old, the Philadelphia 76ers star is considered to be amongst the best players.
There is no denying Simmons’ abilities and potential. Surely, he is one of the future faces of the league once the baton is passed to the next generation.
Following last years debacle, Ben led his Philadelphia team to be one of the strongest teams. Averaging 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists, Simmons alongside Joel Embiid, led Philly to have the best 49-23 record in the East.
However, it is the postseason, where the Australian playmaker didn’t play to his true potential. Especially from the free-throw line, the DPOY finalist had a poor performance, missing 48 out of 73 free throws attempts in both series.
Even though Simmons can outrightly be blamed for the Sixers playoffs failures, had he played well, the Sixers could’ve still been in the title contention.

“Teams are interested in acquiring Ben Simmons if he is made available”: Brian Windhorst
As soon as Doc Rivers’ team got eliminated from the playoffs, trade rumours surrounding Ben Simmons started right away. According to ESPN writer Brian Windhorst, several teams are interested in acquiring the 6-foot-11 guard, if Philadelphia management decides to make him available in the market. Windhorst revealed:
“In talking to executives around the league, there’s a lot of interest in Ben Simmons. If he was made available on the market today, there would be maybe up to a dozen teams would make offers.”

Despite his fall in production these playoffs, Simmons is still a 3-time All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defensive player. Without any doubt, Simmons will be a great addition to any team that manages to acquire him. He is still a young talent, wanting to add several skills to his bags.

However, the “Fresh Prince” should not be affected by any outside noise. He should use this offseason to work hard on his game. At the end of the day, whatever franchise he’ll represent, Ben will have to step up and lead that team from the front. Irrespective of his 2021 playoffs run, the sky is the limit for this generational type of talent.
