“Shaq, would you suck venom out of your mother to win a title?”: NBA reporter’s hilarious question incited an epic comeback from the then-Heat superstar
Shaq had a great equation with many of the reporters covering the league. Corby Davidson was one of those with the license to ask him anything.
The Big Aristotle was always loath to staying too serious whenever he interacted with NBA media. This man has always tried his best to have a good time and makes sure that people around him do too.
One of the charismatic things about Shaquille O’Neal was his ability to talk trash and take trash talk as well. This allowed him to play goofball in front of millions of his fans worldwide. And it made him all the more endearing to the masses.
It’s safe to say that the big man made a fool out of himself basically every time he appeared in public. And he did it all knowingly, in order to grow the urban legend that Shaq had become.
At the peak of his powers, Shaq was larger-than-life in a fashion that even LeBron James hasn’t approached. He was truly the show in town, always smiling, always goofing around, but utterly game-breaking and dominant on the court.
“Shaq, would you suck venom out of your mother to win a title?”: NBA reporter’s hilarious question
One of the reporters who Shaquille O’Neal cultivated a great interview relationship, so to speak, was Corby Davidson. Davidson is a Dallas radio personality who co-hosts a sports talk show, The Headline.
At the time of this incident, Davidson was near the top of Shaq’s preferred list of interviewers. That’s the reason why the then-Heat superstar chose violence with his answer:
“Shaq, let’s just say that a snake bit your mom right up here (points to his own nipple area) in the chest area. Would you suck the venom out of her to win the title?”
“No, but I will with your wife.”
