“Team USA Basketball is trying Clippers’ 0-2 strategy”: Kevin Durant and co. defeat Argentina 108-80 after suffering back-to-back losses
After suffering consecutive losses against Nigeria and Australia, Team USA managed to win their third exhibition game against Argentina 108-80.
Even though basketball is a more worldwide sport than before, The USA is the most dominant country with the most talented players in their squad. Iconic players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James among many others, all hail from the United States.
This year too, Team USA has built up a deadly team. With the team led by Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, this star-studded roster is filled with All-Stars and future Hall-Of-Famers. Even though this team is the favourite to win the Olympic Games gold medal at Tokyo this summer, Team USA had shockingly suffered back-to-back losses in their first two exhibition games.
After losing games to Nigeria and Australia, Gregg Popovich’s team has finally clinched their first exhibition win. Teams USA’s Tuesday night’s 108-80 win, was their 10th consecutive win against Argentina since their infamous loss to them in the 2004 Athen Olympics.

In the 28-point blowout over the South American team, it was Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, who led the USA, coincidentally with the same stat-line of game-high 17 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists each.
Team USA prevented their third consecutive loss. They even looked like a completely different and energetic group from their previous two games.

Great win. Finally looked like there was some chemistry. People don’t seem to realize that these are EXHIBITION games first of all. Team USA is also missing Booker, Middleton, and Holiday. Not that they shouldn’t win regardless. The Olympics is an entire different ballgame.

With less than two weeks remaining for the commencement of the 2021 Olympics, the USA Team are finally back on their winning track. This win would be a huge and much-needed morale booster for this talented group which had suffered two stunning consecutive losses. Despite their performances over the past three games, The United States are heavily favoured to win their fourth-consecutive Olympic Gold Medal in Tokyo.
