The Lakers faced off against the Timberwolves on Sunday night. Though Anthony Davis did not suit up for the Lakers last night, this didn’t stop them from carrying out an old fashioned beatdown on the T-Wolves.
The Lakeshow comfortably cruised past the Wolves by beating them 127-91. They now boast a 2-1 record. The Lakers quite nearly emptied their bench on Sunday night as 13 different players scored.
A positive sign for the Lakers during the entirety of this game was their willingness to pass the rock around. No one player dominated the box score for the Lakers. 6 players scored in double digits.
LeBron James sings Kyle Kuzma’s praise after solid performance
Kyle Kuzma led all Lakers in points against the Wolves, dropping 20 while shooting 67% from the field. He started the game off blazing hot as he shot 4 of 5 from beyond the arc, helping the Lakers take an early 28-14 lead.
However, it wasn’t his scoring that impressed LeBron James. It was Kuzma’s passing that caught the reigning Finals MVP’s eye. The 25 year old had two great passes this game and this warranted commendation from James.
LeBron said, “The game is slowing down for him. Everybody knows about his ability to score but the evolution was shown in the play tonight where he dropped the transition dime to KCP.”

This wasn’t the only nifty pass Kuzma had in this game. In the half court, he lasered a pass from the baseline to LeBron on the wing. This play would turn into a Marc Gasol 3.

When asked about his play last night, Kuzma said, “It’s fun playing like a pass-first team.”
