“There was no way I could turn down Space Jam”: LeBron James wins more hearts after Lakers star’s speech on Space Jam 2 sets goes viral

LeBron James continues to win more hearts this offseason. Following the commercial success of Space Jam 2, his speech to the team members is going viral.

There are few athletes on the planet today who are more popular than LeBron James. He’s been at the very peak of the game for practically all of his professional career.

We need not remind NBA fans of the fact that this 36-year-old ironman was earning comparisons to Michael Jordan at 16 years of age. So it is but natural for a kid who grew up idolizing the GOAT to try and emulate his hero. Space Jam 2 is but one attempt at that.

LeBron James gave a heartfelt speech on the sets of Space Jam 2

NBA Twitter caught hold of a video where LeBron James was speaking to the team members for Space Jam: A New Legacy. The Lakers superstar and 4-time MVP seemed overcome by the moment after finishing the shooting process.

In this video, James can be seen wearing his uniform on the set along with his signature LeBrons. He gave one of the most effusive speeches possible, thanking everyone and acknowledging all the love and camaraderie he built with his team along the way:

“When I signed up for the project, I was like Space Jam, it’s a movie that I grew up watching. So there’s people in the movie that I idolized, I was like ‘Absolutely! I gotta do it. There’s no way I could turn down Space Jam.'”

“Then I showed up on set on June 17th, and grabbed my first script, at the far right corner, that thing said ‘Day 1 of 58’. And I was like ‘Wow!'”
