Tired of the Disrespect, Giannis Antetokounmpo Shares Story Drawing Parallel to Kobe Bryant's 'Failure' Speech

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been snubbed yet again. After a dominant regular season, Giannis suffered a back injury in Game 1 and could never recover properly. This resulted in Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat kicking them out in 5 games. Since then, there have been a lot of conflicting opinions on the 2x MVP amongst the NBA community. And apparently, after seeing all this, Giannis decided to do something about it. And so, amidst all the noise, he decided to reiterate his point on failure, something he did through some of Kobe Bryant’s most iconic words.

When we say that the Greek Freak is tired of the disrespect on his name, we aren’t lying. After all, the former DPOY was left off both All-Defensive teams, as you can see in the tweet by NBA Communications below.

Not too long after the All-NBA Defensive Teams were announced, Giannis put a post on both Instagram and Twitter with the caption,

“I’m tired of the disrespect. I’m coming.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo shares his ‘failure’ speech along with Kobe Bryant’s

It’s been almost two weeks since Giannis gave his ‘failure’ speech after getting eliminated by the Heat. However, the same hasn’t died down, and still brings criticism his way. Having had enough of the same, Giannis decided to reference his words on failure with Kobe Bryant’s. And sure enough, that is exactly what he did on his Instagram story. Take a look at the tweet by Tonoy Sengupta below to see screenshots of the same.

To see what Kobe Bryant said in the post that Giannis Antetokounmpo shared on his Instagram story, watch the clip in the Instagram post by ‘mamba24ever’.

“Failure, it doesn’t exist. It’s not existing. What the hell does that even mean? Seriously, what does failure mean? It’s not, it doesn’t exist! It’s a figment of your imagination.”

Moving words by Kobe Bryant. And of course, you can also look at the now infamous interview by Giannis Antetokounmpo in the very same post.

“To work towards goals is not failure. It is (a) step to success. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won 6 championships. The other 9 years was a failure?”

Once it gets this deep, it really is hard to deny Giannis Antetokounmpo’s words on failure. However, it must also be said that this season was hardly a success either for the Milwaukee Bucks. So, more than anything else, what do they need to really take them over the top next time around?

The only changes the Milwaukee Bucks need to make to win it all next season

Believe it or not, the Milwaukee Bucks have one of the elite rosters of the NBA. The only thing you need to pair with it is a more direct approach on both ends of the floor.

They need a point guard who is a better shooter from deep. After all, while Jrue Holiday can theoretically space the floor, his shot has failed him time after time when it matters the most. So, if the Bucks can bring in an elite three-point shooter, there really would be nothing like it.

On defense, they have everything they need. However, they do need to start playing a bit more straight up. They are one of the few teams in the NBA where almost all 5 players on the floor can guard at least 3-4 positions. However, they need to stop relying on their best defenders being help defense. Instead, they need to try and challenge the other team straight on.

Sometimes it is simplicity that is the best policy. And given all the talent the Milwaukee Bucks have, that is really all you need to make the Bucks champions once again.
