“Too Much Love Will Kill You!”: 3 Months After Shaquille O’Neal’s ‘Beef’ with Kevin Durant, Son Shaqir Shares Suns Star’s Tweet

When Kevin Durant is not shooting hoops, he is often seen picking fights with trolls on the internet. Previously infamous for having a burner account, KD loves using Twitter in his free time. Like every other summer, Durant has been spending a lot of his time going back and forth with naysayers. With the Brooklyn Nets fanbase filling up Twitter with hate comments directed toward the Slim Reaper, the Phoenix Suns star has decided to clap back. Meanwhile, Shaquille O’Neal’s son Shaqir O’Neal shared one of Durant’s tweets on his Instagram story, months after his father’s ‘beef’ with the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player.

Earlier this year, Shaq and Durant got into a tussle. The ‘beef’ started after Durant came to Rui Hachimura’s defense following Shaq’s comments that he doesn’t care about players who are not top 10 in the league. The two would take shots at each other on Twitter that would go on for several days. However, a couple of months later, the Los Angeles Lakers legend would disclose not having any animosity toward the two-time NBA Champion.

Shaqir O’Neal shares KD’s recent tweet

A few days ago, KD locked horns with yet another ‘hater’ online. A fan with the Twitter handle @yahweighh called out the four-time scoring champ for having ‘no integrity for the game’. The fan claimed that KD was deleting tweets. Being accused of using the game for his ‘personal gain’, the two-time Finals MVP had a hilarious response. “Well good thing I’ll be out yall way in a few years and u can get back to enjoying the game u love,” Durant wrote on Twitter.

Right after that, @kdismygoat asked Durant why he never replied to his fans and only paid attention to his haters. To which, Durant had an almost poetic response, “Hate drives me. Too much love will kill you.”

Merely a few days after the tweet went viral, Shaqir (Shaq’s youngest son) would go on to share a Bleacher Report post with screenshots of KD’s online arguments. Have a look at the screenshot on the tweet by @dubs3000.

Kevin Durant doesn’t want longevity to be a part of his legacy

During his latest Tweet Spree, KD made an interesting claim. On a Twitter thread, a fan praised the veteran Forward for his ‘longevity’ in the league. While Durant is regarded as one of the best players in league history, being complimented for longevity is a first. Furthermore, the user @durant735 lauded the 34-year-old for having played with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Kobe Bryant.

Not wanting to associate longevity with his legacy, the Suns leader replied:

“Chill bro, that’s not apart of the legacy…lol i appreciate your recognition tho.”

Having been subjected to so many trolls, it almost feels like Kevin Durant has forgotten how to take a compliment. However, he must have liked Shaqir sharing his message on social media.
