Victor Wembanyama’s ‘10 Min Breakfast Tacos’ Saga Broken Down By Redditor Months After Charles Barkley’s Rant On San Antonio Women

Victor Wembanyama was a lock to be the number 1 pick of the 2023 Draft for quite some time and it finally happened this week as the San Antonio Spurs picked the 7ft 4in sensation. Given the history of French internationals like Tony Parker and Boris Diaw with the Spurs, Wembanyama also wanted to get into Gregg Popovich-led side. However, the San Antonio ‘breakfast tacos’ were also something that was on the 19-year-old’s mind while making this decision.

That wish was also granted as soon as he landed in San Antonio.

In the NBA community, the San Antonio food has earned a bad reputation since TNT analyst and NBA great Charles Barkley started body shaming the “big” women in San Antonio. It even angered the people living in the Southern city of Texas, who demanded an apology from the ‘Round Mound of Rebound’. If anything, getting Wemby breakfast tacos as soon as he landed in the city, proves Barkley’s point furthermore.

Although Spurs’ mascot,’ The Coyote’, mistook the younger brother of Victor for him, he made sure someone from the Wembanyama family got the tacos the number 1 pick was craving. But then Victor also got another pack of tacos from somebody in the media crew. This happened within just 10 minutes of Wembanyamas touching the ground in San Antonio. Take a look at the tweet by Joey Berry below.

A Redditor by the username ‘pcwgussej‘ broke down the complete sequence of the story, which you can see in the following embed.

Indeed a warm welcome for the generational talent, who might bring back the glory days back to San Antonio.

Wembanyama feels rewarded to get to the Spurs

After getting in as the 1 number pick of the 2023 Draft, Wembanyama had an interview with Sports Centre’s Scott Van Pelt where the veteran analyst asked him what does it mean to him to be a “Damn Spur”?

“It’s the greatest thing I could’ve asked for; The greatest franchise. The greatest team. The greatest culture, the greatest fans. Sometimes, the universe puts us through trials before having any reward. This is one of my rewards,” Wembanyama said in an interview on Sports Center according to Josh Paredes.

Now that he is where he wanted to be all along, let’s hope “the greatest draft pick since LeBron James” starts delivering from the get-go. Victor doesn’t have to look far for inspiration. Just a few years ago Dallas’ Luka Doncic showed us how a kid from Europe can take over the NBA. So, perhaps, all the hype will be fulfilled after all.
