Warriors Lose First Place to NFL Franchise by $80 Million on ‘Most Valuable NA Teams List’, Lakers 5th With $6.44 Billion to Their Name
Joe Lacob and Peter Guber purchased the Golden State Warriors in 2010 for a price of $450 Million. Joe and Peter won the bid over Larry Ellison, who had bid more than them but had failed to do so within the timeline.
Over the course of the last 12 and a half years, Lacob and Guber have managed to do something no other sports franchise has ever accomplished. They managed to skyrocket the Warriors’ worth from $450 Million to over $7.5 Billion in the course of 12.5 years.
Sure they had some help in the form of an excellent roster. When Lacob bought the team, Stephen Curry was already a part of it. However, the decision to keep him on board and take a chance on him was all Lacob and Bob Myers. From there, the Dubs won four championships in eight years, and well, the rest, as they say, is history.
Warriors fall short of Dallas Cowboys by $80 Million, Knicks and Lakers 4th and 5th
In the last 12.5 years, the Warriors have grown their net worth by over 16%. A lot of smart decisions and a lot of winning has to do with the team seeing incredible success, both on the court and in the banks.

Having a strong team with stars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr to lead the way, the Warriors have seen success good enough to be called a dynasty. Since winning their 2022 NBA Championship, Dubs grew their net worth by almost $2 Billion.
In a recent list compiled by Boardroom, Warriors were #2 on North America’s most valuable sports franchises. Their evaluation at $7.56 Billion falls short of the #1 Dallas Cowboys by merely $80 Million.

2. Golden State Warriors
3. New York Yankees
4. New York Knicks

The Knicks and the Lakers have also grown their net worth over the last year. The New York based team went from $6 Billion in 2022 to $6.8 Billion. The Lakers went from $5.9 Billion to $6.44 Billion.
Can the Dubs cross the Cowboys?
If we look at the current pattern, the Warriors are growing their worth much faster than the Cowboys. If the Warriors manage to make it to the playoffs, their value is only going to increase further.
With Stephen Curry returning to the lineup soon, and Klay Thompson looking like himself, the Dubs have a good chance of doing so, and maybe taking over even before the playoffs start.
