Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics have capped off an unexpectedly large victory in game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers to even the series at 1-1. However, we aren’t here to analyze or highlight the team’s play. No, instead, we’re here to show you something about Tatum. You see, referees in the NBA are very soft and sometimes seem like they have the most fragile egos in the world. You throw the ball to them in the wrong way, and you’ve got yourself a technical. And if you make intentional contact with them, you’d have to have powers beyond that of the almighty to not be ejected. And yet, despite Jayson Tatum’s constant shoving of referees away has received no action.

Beyond weird? Absolutely. Bewildering? Indubitably. Worth placing a harsh limelight on? We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t.
What is going on with Jayson Tatum and the referees?
Jayson Tatum is not known to be the kind of player that is going to let immature actions take him out of games. After all, it’s not something that tends to happen very often. And yet, it is important to note that, despite his reputation, even Draymond Green probably wouldn’t do what the Celtics star did against the Hawks. Take a look at the tweet by Bruno below.
Dejounte Murray has been suspended for Game 5 vs. Celtics after making contact with a referee in Game 4 but Jayson Tatum pushed a referee and got nothing (star treatment)
Just like when Draymond gets suspended for kicking but not Embiid.

cleary this deserves a technical too, but Murray’s action was much more aggressive

Some have looked at this and argued that it was the official’s fault for getting in Jayson Tatum’s way. However, it isn’t like the referee crashed into the player. He seemed to instead be looking to break up a potential fight that could’ve happened. However, the Celtics star decided to act in a way that could have, and very well should have gotten him thrown right out of the game.
All this is disappointing. However, it isn’t the last time that it has happened in just these playoffs alone. You see, after easing past the Atlanta Hawks in round 1, the Celtics now face the 76ers. And in game 2 of this series, Jayson Tatum had an incident with an official yet again. Watch the clip in the tweet by Oh no he didn’t below.
Jayson Tatum pushed a ref again. How has he not gotten in trouble for this?

Again, some fans have been saying that the official walked in his path. But, doesn’t that only make him sound like a bully who would push someone away unnecessarily? There are ways to do things nicely. And yet, despite seeing his fellow NBA stars get thrown out of the game for a lot less (oftentimes when they don’t even deserve it), Jayson Tatum has been blatantly disrespecting referees. What is going on here?
Thoughts: Jayson Tatum may possibly be getting some serious superstar treatment
Superstar treatment is nothing new in the confines of the NBA. When a player is of a certain quality, officials seem to be far too partial to them. Everybody knows it happens because they see it in every game. And when you see this type of thing, it’s hard to say this isn’t it.
On most occasions, fans are fed up with the officials calling fouls on and ejecting players for absolutely nothing. However, if they’re going to continue to do so with the others, we’d like to see it happen to Jayson Tatum too. After all, who wouldn’t like a bit more consistency here?
