Watch: When Klay Thompson Got Hypnotized at Brother Trayce Thompson's Dodgers Game

Klay Thompson might have been a little lackluster this postseason with his shooting. Just a few days ago, he missed a crucial shot and he has looked lost and hypnotized throughout the series. But it wouldn’t be the first time. Once during an LA Dodgers game, he was caught in hypnosis.

Klay Thompson has always been a force to reckon with. The 6’5 guard from the Golden State Warriors has put the league on notice once again, as the Warriors continue to slug it out with the Lakers in the 2022-23 postseason. Thompson’s performance this postseason has been almost reminiscent of his young dynasty days, as he recently inched out Jason Kidd to take the 13th spot on the All-time 3-pointers list.

But he has looked lost and thanks to his more nascent failures, videos of him getting hypnotized are circulating around. In August 2022, while attending a Dodgers-Giants game, Klay had a ‘rendezvous with a magician’. While Klay’s ‘magic’ on the hardwood is all too familiar, Johnny Wu had something unexpected in store for Thompson.

In a captivating incident at the Dodgers Stadium, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard underwent a mesmerizing hypnotic experience. During the captivating session, Wu was making Klay’s hands move employing the power of suggestion. Through this classic hypnotic technique, Thompson’s hands appeared to move in response to Wu’s suggestions, without any contact from Wu. Wu’s cryptic statement, “Don’t open your eyes because some crazy things are already happening,” heightened the intrigue surrounding this extraordinary encounter.

An evening to remember for the other Splash Brother

Following the hypnosis session, Thompson expressed disbelief about the mind-bending experience he had just undergone. He requested video evidence to witness the astonishing spectacle that unfolded during his hypnosis. Thompson seemed shocked as he saw himself being puppeteered by Johnny Wu in the clip

The entire event transpired during a Dogers-Giants game in August. The Dodgers were hosting the Giants at the Dodgers Stadium. Though the match was relatively quiet, with the Dodgers sending the Giants home with a 3-0 beating, Klay and the fans surely left with much more ‘action’ than they could have asked for.

During the magic show, Johnny is seen instructing Klay, as the fans listen on in intrigue. First Wu informs Klay to relax and to imagine strings attached to both his hands extending towards the sky above. After which, suddenly Johnny seems to puppeteer Klay while standing behind him. Johnny later revealed that the ‘magic’ was all done with the help of a hypnosis spell that he placed on Klay beforehand.

The Warriors and Klay Thompson make magic again as they eye 5th ring

Locked in an epic series with LeBron James and the Lakers, the Golden State Warriors are still looking fit to represent the West. The defending Champs have had historical performances from Stephen Curry, Kevon Looney, and Klay Thompson, this postseason to keep their dream to defend alive.

This season has also attracted a lot of attention to Klay, as his regular season was rather disappointing. But to no one’s surprise No.11 has found his stride just in time for the playoffs.

Though it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Steph needs some ‘3rd quarter Klay.’ With Draymond and Poole struggling to stay consistent, the team needs Klay now more than ever. It would be interesting to see if Klay can operate at a hundred percent post-surgery.
