The Battle for LA rages on as the Lakers hosted the Clippers in a repeat of last season’s opener. The Lakers held their ring ceremony last night, much to the Clippers’ chagrin.
Unfortunately for the Lakers, the Clippers rained on their parade as they bested the Lakers for the 2nd year in a row on opening night. Paul George led all scorers with 33 points while LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard had 22 and 26, respectively.
It was another close one between the two Los Angeles teams. However, even with the rivalry between the two teams being built up as much as it has been, LeBron James seemed to have been in high spirits when interacting with Clippers players.
LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard exchange a few words in the 4th quarter.
With the Lakers down by 7 points, Markieff Morris went to the free throw line for a pair of free throws. While Morris was getting ready to shoot, LeBron James turned around and started chatting up the Clippers bench.
It is unclear on what what being said between the LeBron James and the bench. It is quite obvious though, that James was either talking to Kawhi Leonard, or Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue.
Whatever was being said between the 4x MVP and the Clippers, it must’ve been something positive. Both LeBron and the Clippers were having a laugh over what was being exchanged.

Perhaps James was chopping it up with his old Cavaliers coach, Ty Lue. They are known to have a solid relationship off the court, as they won a championship together.
The relationship between Kawhi and LeBron isn’t something is very well known about. With Leonard’s free agency fiasco from last summer, LeBron and Kawhi’s relationship off the court is most certainly up in the air.
