On Thursday morning, the Detroit Pistons fired their Assistant General Manager, Rob Murphy, who was under investigation for inappropriate behavior with a former employee. DeJanai Raska is the executive assistant of Murphy, who is filing the harassment case against him and the Pistons.

Murphy was on paid leave since the harassment case on him was first brought to light by the Pistons’ management back in October 2022.
DeJanai Raska and her sexual harassment case
DeJanai Raska is a 32-year-old former employee of the Pistons organization, who is suing her employers and Rob Murphy for sexual discrimination and harassment.
On Thursday, Raska’s attorney, Megan Bonnani accused the Pistons of continuing to pay Murphy until his firing this Wednesday, despite the external investigation finding him guilty of the accusations by Raska.
DeJanai, who lost her job with the Pistons in May 2022, also accused Murphy of falsely sending a mail to the Pistons organization of her resignation that she never wrote.
What happened with Raska?
The mother of two, DeJanai, told the Detroit Free Press her entire story of months of harassment by the former GM and President of Pistons’ G-League affiliates, the Motor City Cruise.
She revealed how Murphy groped her in front of her 4-year-old daughter, and even dared to tell her he wants to put a baby in her. Raska also told about the harrowing experience when she was babysitting Rob’s son one time, after which he came back home and her to perform oral sex and upon declining forced himself upon her.
“Silence is not an option,” Raska told Detroit Free Press. “It’s not for me. It shouldn’t be for any woman. … This is my chance to voice the truth … and to take my power back.”
As traumatic as the case sounds, the Pistons took a very long time in firing the 50-year-old Murphy, whom they promoted in 2022 and kept paying until this past Wednesday.
