“Whose dad is a better commentator?”: Klay Thompson puts Warriors’ Steph Curry on the spot with this postgame interview question
Warriors star Klay Thompson assumes the duties of a sideline reporter for NBC Sports, interviewing Stephen Curry after their blowout win.
The Golden State Warriors completed a rather good week for themselves tonight. They beat the Detroit Pistons 118-91 to finish their week with a 3-1 record. They beat the Timberwolves twice to complete a perfect baseball series, then ended up falling short to the Suns, before beating the Pistons tonight.
The Warriors have been missing Klay Thompson and his sharpshooting on the court. He has been attending the home games for a while now. Tonight he assumed a role he had taken up last year. Reporter Klay was back, as he first was seen talking to the broadcasters, and then took up their job for the final 2 minutes of the 3rd Quarter.
Klay Thompson asks Steph Curry a walk-off question
Klay Thompson had quite some interesting questions to ask his teammate. There were questions about passes from Draymond, or when Steph would break Ray Allen’s record. The one question that really stood apart was when Klay asked Steph whose father is a better commentator. Klay also added that it was one of their birthdays, which obviously meant it was Mychael Thompson’s birthday.
Steph laughed for a second and said,
“Happy birthday to papa Thompson. I gotta go with Dell Curry though.”
This caused Klay to walk away from the microphone in mock consternation. After all, you don’t wish a friend’s dad a happy birthday and then retract the gift you were supposed to give them.

The reply prompted a walk-off by Klay, following which Curry made his way back to the locker room as well. Stephen Curry has been performing at a high level this season, as he is leading the Warriors on all fronts. Klay Thompson’s return would certainly provide a major boost for the Dubs next season.
