"Why you lyin on TV Shannon Sharpe?": Kevin Durant accuses Skip Bayless's counterpart of using fake quotes from the Nets star on Undisputed yesterday

Shannon Sharpe and Kevin Durant have been having a Twitter back-and-forth. This happened in the wake of the former’s segment yesterday.

Sharpe had accused KD of lying about his intentions of ‘growing as a basketball player’ on Undisputed. This was a conversation that KD had brought up in a conversation with Rachel Nichols last Saturday:

“Once I won a championship, I realized that my view on this game is really about development. How good can I be? I appreciate the championship stuff and I want to win to experience that, but it’s not the end all, be all for why I play this game.”

Shannon had taken on KD on yesterday’s segment, saying:

“It is easy for him to say this now since he has those 2 titles. It puts his mind at ease. If he felt this way in the beginning, he would’ve never left OKC or fast-tracked himself to winning titles.”

Shannon Sharpe blasts Kevin Durant on Twitter now

KD had posted a tweet with this wording to take Shay Sharpe head on: “Ole Shannon refuses to respond to me. Yo Shannon why are u using your platform to push fake quotes about me?”

Shannon’s response was obviously confrontational – the Hall of Famer is not the type to back down.

The back and forth seemed to end with Shannon having the last word, but it looked like a defeated comment in response to KD’s allegations that Sharpe has been lying on TV.

Shannon went on to block KD on Twitter. We know this because Durant went back and posted this for everyone’s benefit. We’d hope this exchange is the last we hear before KD actually has done something on court. It’s not fun to have banter without the player’s performance in the backdrop.
