Zion Williamson and Pelicans had a major ‘New Orleans food’ feast before game vs Wizards
New Orleans Pelicans owner Gayle Benson shipped crates of “New Orleans food” to the bubble hotel for a feast for Zion Williamson and co. on Wizards game day.
The New Orleans Pelicans have had a disappointing run in the NBA bubble and have looked disjointed during the games. With minutes restrictions on Zion Williamson to lack to team chemistry, the Pelicans quickly went from eighth seed front-runners to outcasts in Orlando. The Pelicans will hope to bounce back next year after a disappointing bubble campaign. The team managed to transform Ingram into an all-star and improved Lonzo Ball during the course of the season.
However, a news broke regarding the Pelicans squad about enjoying a feast as they are embroiled in a battle to bag the eighth seed in the stacked western conference. Several fans have reacted negatively to it as the Pelicans seem to have taken the foot off the gas with their qualifications hanging by a thread.
Feast in Orlando for the Pelicans
Although the team has been floundering inside the bubble, the team owner has been treating his squad with a feast. It is reported that team owner Gayle Benson shipped crates of food to the team hotel for a feast.
Red fish, shrimp, gumbo, jambalaya. salad and cakes from Gambino’s bakery were part of a masive buffet in their hotel in Disney bubble. With the aroma spreading across the hotel, Kings coach Luke Walton walked into the feast and eventually enjoyed a gala time with the Pelicans squad.

The Pelicans were expecting a lot from Zion inside the bubble as the rookie sensation looked jacked and ready to take the next step in his career. However with a family emergency, the superstar left the bubble and came back to the bubble rusty. The star had missed a major chunk of his rookie year with injuries and the Pelicans management were managing his minutes after his debut early this year. Hence, the management decided to put their young pearl on minutes restrictions as the squad battled the best in a bid to reach the playoffs.
