It is no longer a shock anymore that Neymar secured his world record €222mn move to French Ligue 1 heavy weights Paris-Saint Germain. And now it is no more a shock that La Liga giants and Neymar’s ex team’s biggest rivals- Real Madrid are plotting a move to get the star back to Spain.

According to reports from Spain, Marcos Motta, a member of Neymar’s legal team, has confirmed that the PSG talisman does not have any release clause attached to his contract at Paris-Saint Germain. Yes, you read that right! The world’s most expensive player has no clause for his release in the transfer market.

Amidst heavy interest from Florentino Perez to reshuffle his attacking trio, Real Madrid have identified Neymar as their top priority. Marcos Motta shockingly claimed in an interview with Radio Globo, “I can guarantee that there’s no release clause in Neymar’s contract.”

“Nor anything about objectives or ending the season as the top goalscorer,” he added.

Though Neymar secured his world record move in August, Motta claimed that Neymar’s father, Neymar Sr, had been planning to secure the move since July and that he made frequent trips to finalize a contract for his son.

Neymar has already been a sensation at the Parc des Princes, scoring 24 goals and assisting 16 in just 23 games for PSG, including four in a match in their recent 8-0 rout against Dijon in Ligue 1. However, rumors suggest that Neymar is having a tough time with fellow team-mate Edinson Cavani and current manager Unai Emery that may lead to him leaving the Parisian club.

Real are apparently monitoring Neymar’s position at PSG as well Eden Hazard and Robert Lewandowski at Chelsea and Bayern Munich respectively. With the famed BBC’s time coming to a close, Madrid are looking to bring in top quality replacements at the Bernabeu.
